How to Make Rendang ?

Hello friends, meet me again and thanks for join me. This time i will share to you a rendang recipe. If you're not Asian people i think you have not known about this food. Actually this food is from Padang, a province in Indonesia. If you visit Indonesia you will find this food in every stall, because this food have been tradition for Indonesian peoples.Generally this food is served in many wedding event or other events.
Rendang have many kinds. If you eat the Padang rendang it will be different with Javanese rendang. Javanese rendang dominated with sweet, hot and salty taste, while Padang rendang dominated with hot and salty. You will find different taste in each province in Indonesia.

Javanese rendang, sweet, hot and salty

Okay friends, let's we begin from the recipe. Because i am Javanese, i will serve the Javanese recipe. just follow me !!!

Ingredients:
  • 500 grams of beef
  • 500 grams of coconut milk
  • 6 grains of garlic
  • 8 grains of red onion
  • 1 cm of turmeric
  • 2 grains of candlenut
  • A lemongrass
  • 1 cm of ginger
  • 2 cm of galangal
  • 4 pieces of lime leaves
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 2 spoons of tamarind
  • 4 red chili
  • Nutmeg
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Soy sauce
  • Cooking oil
Steps to cook:
  • Slice the beef as you want
  • Sublime garlic, red onion, turmeric, red chili, ginger and candlenut. Mix them
  • Saturate beefs with a bit of sublimated seasonings above
  • Saute the sublimated seasonings in pan, mix with mashed lemongrass, bay leaf and galangal
  • If it's be fragrant, pour the beef in pan
  • Add lime leaves and tamarind
  • Pour the coconut milk
  • Add salt, sugar (as you want), pepper, soy sauce
  • Wait until the beef soft...and rendang is ready to be served
